Now more and more people are moving to level 100 area, it is time to put something together about level 100 strategy. Four concepts are extremely important in level 100 area:
(1) Faction occupation rate in the cities we hold is key to our success, (2) Investments for prestige are an absolute must, (3) Cities in level 100 have different traits/ behavior and (4) Location- and attack target decisions should be driven by what is best for the faction, not for an individual or even for our league. ---------- FACTION OCCUPATION RATE (FOR): a % (0-100) that defines relative ownership of a city by a faction. Faction with the highest FOR owns a city and the flag will show color of that faction. Members of the faction that owns the city can relocate there. Ownership of a city also allows for certain activities to be performed in the city like refining. FOR can be increased in 3 ways: (1) attack and defeat someone in the city, (2) investments for prestige in the city and (3) win an area battle involving the city. Level 100 strategy is all about getting the FOR in the cities we have or want to have as high as possible. People that impact FOR in a city negatively (defeated in more than 3 attacks per day) should always relocate to Cydonia where FOR is of no importance. ---------- INVESTMENTS FOR PRESTIGE: serves three purposes: (1) will increase individual prestige by 2 times academy level per invested prosperity point. (You can invest three times a day; at level 100 this means 3(times) x2 x100(lvl) x10(points invested) = 6000 prestige per day. All without raising your aggression level!), (2) increase area prosperity and thus increases levy income permanently for everyone in the city and (3) adds to cities faction occupation rate (1% per 10 prosperity points invested). Maximum investments for prestige are mandatory for all located outside our capital city Cydonia (or when we are over 90% occupation in another city) ---------- CITY TRAITS: There are various types of cities in level 100 with different behavior:
POLITICAL CENTER (Cydonia): acts as the capital city for a faction, cannot be conquered or invaded by other factions, FOR is always at 100% here. The place to be for everyone newly moving up from level 80 area, those who are not strong enough yet to wander around and lose more than 3 attacks per day and those who cannot/ don’t want to invest for prestige. People in Cydonia are relatively safe as the city is the least interesting target for other factions. It will allow level 80 people to work on their second Training Ground and their Alchemy Lab in relative piece. ECONOMIC CENTER (Delos): investments here result in double the FOR increase. So it is easier here to keep the FOR high than in other cities, basically people here can lose 6 x being attacked per day without impacting FOR if they invest the daily maximum. Delos is our initial expansion city when Cydonia becomes crowded. At this time it should be the hometown for only our stronger faction members (M30 and above) who are willing to invest. If Delos starts to over populate we will decide if we want to conquer another EC or start populating one of the cultural centers (see below). MILITAIRY CENTER (Taenarum): attacks from here result in double FOR gains in other cities. This city is key in a potential city take-over or efforts to cripple other factions. As the MC is a danger and thus primary target for other factions, only our strongest faction members can locate there permanently (M40 and above or specially approved by league host). There may be reasons to mass populate Taenarum for a short period –like when we try to take over a city quickly. TRADE CENTER (Lorenzo): from here we can invest in any city (friendly and hostile). This city is key to support our cities where FOR is dropping but also to invade other cities by investing for FOR if we feel appropriate. Lorenzo is really an auxiliary city and should NOT be a permanent home for anybody except when specifically approved by league host. You move to Lorenzo, do your invests and move out again as soon as cool down allows.. Preferably under cease fire.. There should never be more than 4 faction members in Lorenzo at any given time to safe guard the city from area battles. CULTURAL CENTER (Sparta, but also Athens and Thebes): everyone can move in regardless what faction owns the city. These cities have the least importance for any faction and just act as an overflow when other cities become too crowded. They do give an interesting option for our stronger players though in need for top mine/farm/colonization targets from other factions. Note that if we do not have highest FOR in such city some of our actions (like refining) may be hampered there. ---------- SOME FINAL REMARKS: I understand that some of you might not care or just play the game for fun once in a while and are not interested in the chess game that level 100 strategy really is; no problem but in that case: please stay in Cydonia at all times as your actions may accidentally have a negative impact on our entire faction. I really hope that level 100 strategy adds a new dimension to the game making it more interesting.
We have some experienced players in league that played level 100 on other servers many times. Don’t hesitate to reach out to them whenever you have questions or even better, have proposals or input to our faction’s level 100 strategies!
Level 100 strategies are extremely tough to coordinate as these need to be set and executed at a faction level, not at a league level. The merger between Elite and Triton was therefore really a must so we have the noses off all current key players in the same direction and can survive as Poseidon faction in the long run. We will face situations where smaller leagues disrupt strategies (especially when it concerns location to Lorenzo and Taenarum), in that case please inform the league ‘leaders’ so they can work with other league hosts to rectify such situation. We have a strong and great league, let’s keep it that way but keep in mind that over time faction interests become more important than just the league.
I hope I have given you some insights in what it means to be level 80+ and the responsibility a high level brings, I will post more detailed strategy details later in the game when these becomes important. Thanks and always covering your back, Alci
